The department of communication sciences and disorders will celebrate its Fourth Annual Outstanding Alumni Event from 3:30-7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Marcus Welcome Center. This year's event will honor Patrick J. Carney, professor emeritus, department of audiology and speech pathology at the University of Tennessee. His presentation is titled "Professional issues in communication sciences and disorders: Looking back -- looking forward." This spring, the Lake Afton Public Observatory will be presenting "Black Holes in Space" on Friday and Saturday evenings March 28-29; April 4-5 and 25-26; May 2-3, 23-24 and 30-31; and June 20-21 and 27-28. Lake Afton's second spring program is called "Celebrity Craters." It will be presented on Friday and Saturday evenings March 14-15 and 21-22; April 11-12 and 18-19; May 9-10 and 16-17; and June 6-7 and 13-14.
